Punta Arenas is the capital city of Chile’s southernmost region, Magallanes and Antarctica Chilena. It is the largest city south of the 46th parallel south and is a convenient base for traveling to Tierra del Fuego, Los Dientes, Torres del Paine and Argentina. It is also the Chilean entry point to the Falkland Islands, with flights to and from Mount Pleasant on Saturdays.
